These divisions act as exclusive or competitive brokers on behalf of principals and are further split into cargo or tonnage specific desks which facilitates prompt and efficient responses to all enquiries received. Each of these desks consists of trained brokers rendering quality services to their respective principals.
Prior being assigned the profile of a Ship Broker or Post Fixture Operations executive, the individuals are exposed to our relevant port offices or the agency division in the Head Office. This enables them to understand vessel and cargo operations as well as appreciate the relevance of crucial Charter Party clauses. Access to our centralized database enables us to guide principals with any information they may need during the negotiations.
DRY CARGO CHARTERING
The Dry Cargo division operates as brokers for cargoes and tonnage ranging from 5,000mt up to cape size vsls. Our client list comprises of Owners and Charterers from Indian Government Undertakings and Private Companies based in India and Overseas. Our chartering team specializes in the full range of dry cargo commodities : Coal, Iron Ore, Fertilizers, Agri products, Steels, Generals and project cargoes to name a few. We are very actively working with Owners based in India and abroad on both voyage and time charter, c.o.a’s/c.v.s.’, short/long term period employment. We also have an IPP DESK which is solely concentrating on the logistic solutions of power plants in India. These Charterers are looking for cost effective freight solutions on long term basis.
With a rapidly expanding Indian Tanker Fleet as well as a significant rise in import and export of petroleum and specialized products, a need has arisen for broking houses to have a dedicated team of brokers focusing on different segments of the tanker market, a concept in which we have been the pioneers. The tanker chartering division is segregated into four cargo specific desks :
The clean desk works cargoes and vessels ranging from 5,000 Metric Tons upto LR2 size and handles Indian import, export and coastal cargoes as well as other cargoes moving world wide. In addition, we work the clean tonnage owned by Indian Owners.
We are one of the most active Indian brokers for crude and fuel oil fixtures done by private Charterers as well as public sector undertakings such as BPCL, HPCL,IOCL, MRPL, ONGC and SCI. In addition, we regularly work Indian tankers seeking employment. The sizes worked by this desk range from 5,000 Metric Tons up to VLCC. We also work cargoes and tonnage of Foreign Oil Companies, Traders as well as Ship Owners and Operators.
Growing demands of the increasing population as well as rapid industrialization, has made India very active in the import and export of Edible Oils, Chemicals and Gases, etc. Based on the close association we have with several Owners and Charterers of such specialized tonnage, we secure a substantial share of this business. The sizes of these shipments vary from 1,000 up to 50,000 Metric Tons.
